Chris completed his musical studies in percussion at the music academy in Mol. Graduated in both classical and jazz-pop-rock at  conservatory in Antwerp and the Lemmens Institute.

Currently retired after 43 years of teaching at various academies in Flanders, with his final destination being the academy in Mol, where it all started for him.

The first preference for jazz started in his youth with the band  “TILT” whose music was mainly inspired by vibraphonists such as Gary Burton and Mike Mainieri. Standards from the “Real Book” were also part of the repertoire, but playing jazz in an academy was still prohibited at the time.

As a freelance percussionist-drummer, active for more than forty years in various ensembles, including: jazz quartet B-Moll, variety orchestra, big band, vibraphone-piano duo, chamber and symphonic orchestra.

Definitely wants to stay active as a musician and  therefore the challenge with entering Beatweenuzz.
